Educational Concept

School is the place where children spend a large part of their young lives. It is not only the place where they learn, it is also where they develop their personalities through interaction with fellow students and teachers. We aim to responsibly aid and guide this development inside and outside of the classroom.

The focal point of our educational concept is to embrace and support the natural tendencies of our youth to observe the world with open-mindedness, curiosity and to experience joy in the process of discovering and understanding. These characteristics should be preserved and promoted in the protected school environment. Teachers, students and parents share the objective of optimally promoting the individual assets of each student through motivated learning. We attach great importance to ensuring that all students have a sense of achievement.

Each student is encouraged to express themselves without hesitation, to question things critically, discover their own versatility and to present their findings with confidence and pride. We promote the natural desire to communicate through various presentation opportunities and thereby practice communicative skills in German and English.

Due to a manageable number of students, our teachers have more time to focus on each child individually. The teachers and students discuss the learning objectives, and convert them into concrete tasks. With the help of individual student-teacher meetings and performance feedback, students develop effective learning strategies and the ability to independently manage their learning development.

Lessons are methodically goal-oriented. Alongside traditional instruction, lessons focus on individual development, subject-linking project work, group and pair work, discussions and learning-method training, and are often supported by different forms of media (e.g. books, magazines, newspapers, audio/video, laptop/projector, active board, learning programs, Internet).

The social skills of our students are developed in voluntary activities, both inside and outside of the school environment (e.g. mentoring, helping with school events, becoming a student representative).

With a programme tailored to each age group, our teachers guide the students along their own personal path of development on the basis of mutual trust and respect. They provide the children with challenging opportunities while at the same time offering emotional support. In order to provide the necessary direction, they suggest sensible structures to the students and point out possible boundaries.

Girls and boys are introduced to the different subjects equally, and gender-specific stereotypes are avoided. If required, we offer small learning groups during the afternoon programme.
