PLATANUS SCHULE BERLIN is located in the heart of Berlin-Pankow. More precisely, it is situated at Berliner Straße 12 in the historic post-office building, which dates back to 1923. A Postbank branch is situated on the ground floor of the building.
Metro and Underground stations (S and U-Bahnhof Pankow) and the tram and bus stops are just a few minutes away from the school. Thanks to the central and easily accessible location, students from Berlin-Pankow as well as from surrounding districts can reach the school quickly and safely in a matter of minutes.
The interior of PLATANUS SCHULE BERLIN has been renovated and refurbished. The former big hall on the third floor of the post office building has been turned into a huge multi-purpose hall that is being used as a gymnasium and auditorium. Specialist rooms for science, maths, IT and new media are equipped with state-of-the-art technology. In addition, we equipped specialist rooms for music, art, history/social studies/ethics and languages as well as various smaller course rooms.
A canteen, a media centre, workshops for arts and crafts, a special group-work room and a quiet relaxation lounge is available for extra-curricular activities. All students have access to lockers for their books, sports equipment and other personal belongings.

The school yard is being redesigned for our students. We are keeping the historic cobblestones and planting the remaining areas with grass, thus creating an attractive outdoor area where students can play, run around and relax during their breaks and after lessons. The school yard also has its own play area specially for the younger children. Kindergarten children and staff are allowed to use the outside areas of the adjoining lara-kita on the Schulstraße 30. Our school has its own gymnasium, and whenever the weather permits, sporting activities also take place outdoors in 'Kissingen-Stadium'. Public playgrounds, Schlosspark, Bürgerpark and the outdoor swimming pool in Pankow are all situated a short distance from our school.
