Educational Concept

School is the place where children spend a large part of their young lives. It is not only the place where they learn, it is also where they develop their personalities through interaction with fellow students and teachers. We aim to responsibly aid and guide this development inside and outside of the classroom.

Children are naturally open-minded, curious and eager to discover and understand the world around them. The focus of our educational concept is to preserve and promote these characteristics within the safe and protected school environment. Teachers, students and parents work together to optimally promote the development of every child and his or her particular talents through motivated learning without pressure. We attach great importance to ensuring that every child feels a sense of achievement.

All students are encouraged to express themselves freely, to question things critically, to discover their own versatility and to present the results of their work with confidence and pride. We promote the natural desire to communicate through weekly presentation sessions and thereby practise communication skills in German and English.

Due to a manageable number of students, our teachers have more time to focus on each child individually. The teachers and students discuss the learning objectives for the week and the month, and convert them into concrete tasks. With the help of individual student-teacher meetings and performance feedback, students develop effective learning strategies and the ability to independently manage their learning development.

Lessons are methodically goal-oriented. Alongside traditional instruction, lessons focus on individual development, subject-linking project work, group and pair work, discussions and learning-method training, and are often supported by different forms of media. Our modern teaching methodology is designed to avoid fragmentation into individual subjects and to develop interdisciplinary, lateral thinking and lifelong learning.

The social skills of our students are developed in voluntary activities, both inside and outside of the school environment (e.g. mentoring, helping with school events, becoming a student representative).

With a programme tailored to each age group, our teachers guide the students along their own personal path of development on the basis of mutual trust and respect. They provide the children with challenging opportunities while at the same time offering emotional support. In order to provide the necessary direction, they suggest sensible structures to the students and point out possible boundaries.

Girls and boys are introduced to the different subjects equally, so that aside from individual preferences, gender-specific stereotypes are avoided. If required, we offer small learning groups during the afternoon programme.
